August 18, 2016 – Persado’s inaugural ranking on the prestigious Inc. 5000 has led to a flurry of press coverage, particularly on its geographic significance. Ranking No. 2 in both the “New York” and “New York City” segments, Persado is among the roundup of companies that matter in the region.
New York Business Journal’s Anthony Noto reported that there are 400 companies on the Inc. 5000, hailing from the tri-state metro area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Companies Noto noted includes snack maker Chef’s Cut Real Jerky (No. 71), audience analytics company Parse.ly (No. 279), lead generation exchange platform ReviMedia (No. 731) and Time Warner-backed lifestyle site Refinery29 (928).
amNewYork’s Ivan Pereira focused on New York City startups, which “represented the largest share of companies among the 5,000 listed, and are responsible for 26,000 jobs.” Among them, Persado, reported 168 employees to Inc. at the time they submitted for inclusion on the list, but has already passed the 200 mark by the time of the Inc. 5000 announcement. Three-year revenue growth is the focal point of the Inc. list, and Persado continues to grow on all measurable fronts.
Inc.’s Guadalupe Gonzalez similarly focused on the startups in her feature piece, “These Are the Business Hot Spots in 2016.” The top hub for the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing private companies is surprisingly not Silicon Valley, but New York City! In fact, Silicon Valley is all the way down the list at No. 9.
